Occupational Therapy Evaluation: What to Expect
Your occupational therapist will collaborate with you to arrange evaluation at a convenient time for you. Occupational therapy evaluations typically last 55 minutes and may extend into a second scheduled session if necessary. Our occupational therapists excel at fostering an enjoyable, engaging, and stress-free atmosphere. They employ a range of formal and informal assessment tools, including developmental history, observation, assessment of oral motor function, sensory function, vestibular function, and visual motor function, as well as standardized tests. These evaluations provide a comprehensive understanding of your abilities, enabling the creation of a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.
Following the evaluation, your therapist will connect with you to review the evaluation findings and offer recommendations for your care. You'll also receive a comprehensive evaluation report from the therapist. The goals and treatment plans outlined are specific and measurable, facilitating ongoing tracking of your progress. We value open communication, so please don't hesitate to contact your therapist with any queries or concerns. Your therapist will collaborate closely with your family to address your areas of improvement.
